We Are Domi

Dominika, born in 1995 in Buffalo, New York, is a Czech singer and talented songwriter, best known as a member of the electro pop group We Are Domi. She grew up in a sports-oriented family and spent her childhood in various parts of the world, including Ottawa, Canada, Detroit, USA, and Pardubice, Czech Republic.

Her musical journey began at Leeds Conservatoire in England, where she not only earned a Bachelor’s degree in Popular Music Performance and a Master’s degree in Songwriting, but also met two Norwegian musicians, Benjamin Rekstad and Casper Hatlestad, with whom she formed the band We Are Domi. With this band, Dominika represented the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, where they reached the final with the song Lights Off. In addition to their success at Eurovision, the band has a number of hits in their repertoire, including Let Me Follow, I’m Not Alright and Come Get Lost, and in 2023 they released their first eponymous EP.

Dominika’s approach to music, which combines strong electro pop melodies with her songwriting skills, reflects not only her personal musical training but also the international influences that have shaped her. Her musical and creative talents, backed by her education and experience from different parts of the world, make Dominika a major figure on the contemporary Czech music scene.
