Jan Vávra has established himself on the Czech music scene as a songwriter (for artists such as Ewa Farna, Mirai, David Koller, Lucie Bílá and others), but also as a tireless promoter of teamwork in the creation of music. In 2018, he founded the Songwriting CZ platform and began to co-create opportunities and connections between Czech authors and artists and international composers and producers. Since 2018, he has been organizing songwriting camps in Czechia, where the principle of collective creation has been taken to the next level, stimulating the creation of new songs with an international reach. Examples include two Czech participants of the last three editions of the Eurovision Song Contest (“Friend Of A Friend” by Lake Malawi and “Lights Off” by We Are Domi). In addition to active authorship, Jan also works as an A&R, most recently in 2021 as the main producer of Ewa Farna’s album “Umami”, which received not only an enthusiastic response but also the Anděl Music Award.
