Hellwana is a rapper, singer and performer. Her lyrics focus on interpersonal relationships, body positivity and celebrating women. In September 2018, she was voted by an international jury as the most promising progressive music act in the Czech Republic, making her the winner of the Czech Radio export competition at Wave Czeching radio. She has released successful EPs Sun Beam, Phases and several singles. Hellwana has also received positive feedback on the international scene and has played shows in Groeningen, the Netherlands, as part of Eurosonic Noordeslag, the biggest showcase festival in Europe, in Germany, in Israel as part of the Eurovision Song Contest, in the USA and in the UK. In 2020, she composed a piece for the fashion show of the clothing brand Odivi during Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week. In 2021, she composed the piece No Man’s Land for the film Mirrors in the Dark, directed by Šimon Holý. In 2022, she won Single of the Year at the Apollo Awards for the single Das Leben. In the same year, she participated in the dubbing and musicalisation of Eva Kot’átková’s art exhibition My Body is Not an Island, which took place at the National Gallery in Prague and the Museé d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux in France. In 2023, she and her long-time friend and colleague Adam Baňas composed music for the theatre production A neříkej mi Maruško! That same year they also collaborated on the official soundtrack for the documentary series Dakar Sistaz about the Kolocova racers, directed by Jan Těšitel, which will soon be released on Czech Television.
