Josef Kašpar is a teacher, musician, artist and promoter. He has been active on the music scene for several decades. He performs in several musical groups and also devotes himself to his own work. In 2001 he founded the multi-genre festival Open Air Music Fest Přeštěnice. Since 2015 he has been the director of the Centre of Culture of Písek and its main dramaturge. This organization includes the operation of the House of Culture, the Fráni Šrámek Theatre, the Divadelka Theatre Club, the St. Trinity Concert Hall, the Portyč Gallery, the Portyč Cinema and the summer cinema, and until this year also the realization of the city festival Touch the Písek. As part of the organisation’s activities, Josef Kašpar initiated the Jazz in Písek festival and the Filmový Písek film festival.
