Lenka Wimmerová has been involved in various aspects of environmental protection for more than 25 years. In the course of her work experience she has worked in several commercial companies (e.g. Dekonta a.s., Aquatest a.s., ALS Laboratory Group Norway AS), and has cooperated with a number of research and grant organizations and government institutions (Institute of Chemical Research of the CAS, TAČR, Directorate General for Environment, EC, Prague City Hall, etc.). Since 2016 he has been working at the Faculty of Environment of ČZU, Institute of Applied Ecology, first as an assistant professor, since 2023 he has been an associate professor. His research interests include toxicity testing of aquatic and terrestrial environments, detection of microplastics and biodegradability of selected, mainly plastic and disposable materials. At the same time, he is intensively involved in modern tools for assessing the environmental impacts of human activities, such as life cycle modelling (LCA), quantification of environmental footprints (carbon, water, ecological), assessment of green and new or innovative technologies for the environment (ETV and eTEA) and application of environmental management (according to ISO, EN and CSN standards). She places great emphasis on prevention, reducing greenwashing and promoting environmental education for selected target groups. Since 2018, he has been cooperating with Beatworx s.r.o. on the environmental campaign Rollin’ Green of the Let it Roll festival. Since 2020, thanks to receiving state support from the ÉTA programme, TAČR, he has been studying pro-environmental behaviour of participants of open-air summer festivals in the Czech Republic with his team, students and colleagues from the Centre for Environmental Issues, UK, Augiášův chlév s.r.o. and Beatwork s.r.o., and collaborating with the festival association FESTAS.
